Southwest Michigan public transit agencies offer a variety of services to over 289,000 residents in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. Residents utilize transit to get to medical facilities, work, job training, and various other life sustaining activities. In 2009 the seven public transit agencies that served the region provided nearly 400,000 curb- to-curb trips. These agencies receive funding from various sources including; Federal Transit Administration, Michigan Department of Transportation, local support in the form of millages and passenger fares.
