Southwest Michigan public transit agencies offer a variety of services to over 289,000 residents in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. Residents utilize transit to get to medical facilities, work, job training, and various other life sustaining activities. In 2005 the seven public transit agencies that serve the region provided nearly 430,000 curb- to-curb trips. The agencies receive funding from various sources including; passenger fares, U.S. Government, and some receive funding from local government.
